Upcoming forum aims to educate how to prevent or deal with diabetes

ARACATA, CA. (KIEM)-A report from the Center for Disease Control and Prevention says that more than 100 million Americans have diabetes or prediabetes. That’s an increase of 70 million cases from their report back in 2015.

In that same report diabetes was cited as the seventh leading cause of death in the U.S. This shows how important it is to get treatment and advice for the condition as it can kill. There are special products available to make diabetic people’s lives easier and can really help make a difference in their health. For example, you can get diabetic socks for women from a website like www.wholesalediabeticsocks.com which can help improve the legs blood circulation as this is an issue more diabetic people face.

The disease continues to represent a growing health problem, but the good news is type two is preventable and can be managed through physical activity, diet, and with appropriate use of insulin and other medications that control blood sugar levels.

Education is the first step to fighting the disease. That’s why Mad River Community Hospital is hosting a free diabetes prevention & management seminar September 19th at the Shaw Pavilion.

Once again that event will be at mad river community hospital September 19th at 7:00 pm.
