Crescent City Police changes makes changes to citing homeless

CRESCENT CITY – Crescent City Police Chief Ivan Minsal tells Redwood News the ruling by the 9th Circuit Court of appeals will change how they cite The Homeless.

This comes after court ruled the City of Boise, Idaho, violated the Eight Amendment because they punished the homeless for sleeping outside on public property with no alternative shelter.

Crescent City Police will allow the homeless sleep in public places, but will give citations for those trespassing on private property.
