One dead after shooting in Phillipsville

PHILLIPSVILLE- One man is dead after a shooting early Thursday morning in southern Humboldt. The Humboldt County Sheriff’s office received the call at around 3:30, for a reported shooting at a home on the 3000 block of highway 254 in Phillipsville.

Deputies located a deceased male with a gunshot wound.

We’re learning a man who was injured before law enforcement arrived is a person of interest in the case. He was transported to the sheriff’s office in Eureka for questioning and is being cooperative.

The investigation is ongoing.
