First responders honored at Saint Joseph Church in Fortuna

Today was the third annual “Blue Mass” at Fortuna’s Saint Joseph Roman Catholic Church. There, they blessed first responders for the work they put in, day in and day out.

This was a chance for the community to recognize the effort that first responders put forth in times of need. After the mass, Priests blessed the vehicles of Fortuna Fire and Police first responders. Fortuna Fire Chief, Lon Winburn, tells us it was nice to be recognized.

After the blue mass, the church offered lunch to the first responders at Fortuna veteran’s hall.
