Colorful sidewalks take over Arcata’s Main Street Plaza for Pastels on the Plaza

Arcata, Ca., (KIEM) Arcata Main Street Plaza was blooming in color Saturday. Blue, pink, yellow and more bled a colorful masterpiece onto the streets sidewalks in spirit of this year’s Pastels on the Plaza, a benefit for Northcoast Children’s Services.

Businesses were invited to purchase a square of sidewalk to be transformed into a work of art by local artists willing to donate their time and creativity to this unique community event. Some artists freestyled their art while others had a specific cause or business they wanted to support but no matter which designed was chosen all artist agreed that pastels on the plaza is a good time.

Northcoast Children’s Services has partnered with local businesses and artists to transform the sidewalks of the Arcata Plaza into a colorful art gallery on the first Saturday in October.
