HACHR will not proceed with Fortuna needle exchange program at this time

Will Fortuna see HACHR’s needle exchange program expand to their city? HACHR says no, but residents are still voicing their concerns.

After receiving an email on the topic from the state, Interim City Manager, Merritt Perry called HACHR’s Director, Brandi Wilson, to find out more. According to Perry, she told him HACHR has no plans to provide services in Fortuna at this time.

Perry says if HACHR’s needle exchange program were to ever proceed in Fortuna, they would need to coordinate closely with the City of Fortuna, and the Fortuna Police Department.
