Former Northern California Community Blood Bank CEO sends blood mobiles to Africa

HUMBOLDT COUNTY – Former CEO of the Northern California Community Blood Bank Tom Schallert, is still in the blood donating business. But now, he’s working on sending blood mobiles to Africa.

Two were recently sent, and a third is already on the grounds in Nigeria. Schallert has been working with the Rotary Club of Eureka, Saving Lives-Safe Blood Africa, Abbott, and other blood centers, in order to make this possible.

The Rotary Club provided most of the funds needed to ship all three bloodmobiles.  He won’t stop there. Schallert plans to get even more, not only to Nigeria, but other countries that need it, too.
