Eureka City Council Announces Final Candidates for City Manager

Eureka, Ca. (KIEM) – The Eureka City Council announces the names of the final six candidates for city manager and two of them are current city employees.

The finalists include public works director Brian Gerving, community services director Miles Slattery, Matt Brown from St. Helens, Oregon, Tyler de la Plaine a former consultant, Dean Lotter from New Brighton, Minnesota, and Paul Van Haute from Putnam County, Georgia.

The next step is for applicants to meet with city council and staff, then tour the city of eureka on October 11th followed by a community forum at the Wharfinger Building that will allow the public to meet each candidate.

On Saturday October 12th, the applicants will then be interviewed by a panel of hand-selected community members.
