$10,000 College Degree- CSUs want to Pilot Program

Eureka, CA- With the cost of college these days averaging about $30,000 a year, how does obtaining a bachelor’s degree for $10,000 sound?

The low-cost degree is an idea that other states like Texas and Florida are already promoting.
 
Assemblyman Dan Logue has introduced Assembly Bill 51. A bill he hopes will get California State Universities on board as well.
 
If approved, it will start out as a pilot program for students majoring in math, science, engineering, and technology.
 
Three target areas have already been named: Chico, Long Beach, and Turlock.
 
The bill also calls for closer coordination between high schools, community colleges and CSUs.
 
Officials at Humboldt State University say for now, this pilot will not affect their school.
