Tents fill up Willow Creeks Veterans Park while crews camp out to fight the Corral Complex fire. 1,379 personnel are working to fight the fire that has burned 11,828 acres.



Over night, at fires like this, a mini city can crop up over night. Incident Commander, Carlton Joseph said it's like a home away from home.

GARBERVILLE- A Crescent City man rolled his car Friday afternoon after officers said he fell asleep at the wheel. It happened 1 p.m. on southbound 101 just north of Salmon Creek and south of Myers Flat. The Humboldt County Courthouse was evacuated this morning after the Sheriff’s Office reported seeing smoke.

Fire crews have doubled containment percentages for the Corral Complex wildfire east of Hoopa, now at just under 11,800 acres and 18% containment.


Friday crews said higher humidity and cooler temperatures have allowed them to nearly complete the final stages of some indirect lines on the south and west sides of the fire.
