ARCATA- The two Humboldt State University students who were stabbed are still in the hospital while police look for the suspect. Both were stabbed in a fight and had to undergo emergency surgery Sunday morning.


One of the victims is a Humboldt State football player and the other a former football player, both were at a party following the universities homecoming game.

Arcata Police have arrested three teenagers in connection with two burglaries at Sunny Brae Middle School. Investigators said they used information from citizen tips to identify the three who allegedly took one iMac computer, and 11 laptop computers.

A local man has been killed in another crash on Highway 36


California Highway Patrol Officers say the crash happened Sunday afternoon about six miles east of Highway 101 near Carlotta. They say the driver, 41-year-old Kevin McDonald of Alderpoint, was headed westbound in a 2000 Honda Accord when he crashed head on into a 1970 Kaiser dump truck.
