The County Board of Supervisors declared September Local Food Month at their meeting on Tuesday to promote local foods grown in Humboldt County. It is the seventh annual Local Food Month in Humboldt County and events are planned throughout the month to highlight food grown in the region.

SCOTIA- A large fuel fire at the Eel River Power Plant in Scotia forced workers to evacuate Sunday. It was a multi-agency effort with Scotia Fire Department, Fortuna Fire, Rio Dell, and CAL FIRE to get the flames under control.
