A Southern Humboldt man was shot and then abducted from his home by eight gunmen this past Friday. A man's body was recovered floating in Humboldt Bay off Commercial Street in Eureka Monday afternoon. Officials said the man's identity is known, but are not releasing the name.

Sgt. Goodale of the Eureka Police Department said the man is in his late 40s or early 50s and appeared to be a fisherman. They did not know how long the man's body was in the water.
