Governor Brown has declared a drought emergency in the State of California. The decision came after weeks of increasing pressure to take action. For now, the state is asking residents to voluntarily cut back on water usage.
Governor brown's decision will make it easier for transfers of water to take place within the state between those who have extra and farmers who need it.

EUREKA- A two-vehicle crash sends one man to the hospital Friday afternoon. Police said a man driving a red pick-up truck was traveling eastbound on V Street when he ran a red light and struck a Nissan driven by Darrell Whipkey of Oregon, who was driving northbound on 5th Street.

EUREKA- A fully involved house fire on F and Oak Street has left one man injured and in the hospital. Crews from Humboldt Bay Fire found the fire fully involved when they arrived on scene just after 2:00 p.m. on Friday.
