SAMOA- Representative Jared Huffman will visit the Samoa Pulp Mill for the first time on Friday. The Environmental Protection Agency and the U.S. Coast Guard are scheduled to clean up the millions of gallons of hazardous waste at the site.

Law enforcement  has apprehended an inmate who walked away from the CDCR camp at Alder Creek in the Klamath area.
The inmate is 26 year-old Corey Janic. He is a white male adult, 5-11"  and145 pounds with a large visible tattoo on his neck  has a history of burglary and auto theft.

Ferndale Fire received a call a little after eight this evening about a structure fire.

Fire personnel responded to a home near Washington and Grant Streets in the Cream City. Smoke was billowing out of the house but no fire was found at first. FRESHWATER- A rollover car crash in Freshwater shuts down a road but leaves the driver uninjured. It happened around 4:30 p.m. Tuesday evening when California Highway Patrol says for unknown reasons a man driving westbound on greenwood heights lost control and rolled over. He escaped with minor injuries. Meanwhile, both lanes were closed down while crews cleaned up.
