TRINIDAD- Trinidad has adopted its budget with a single exception.

Members unanimously approved the $600,000 budget but tabled a recommendation for a 2% raise for public employees. That would have cost the city $6,800 a year but will have to wait until Council Member Susan Rotwein conducts a salary study for both short- and long-term staff.

EUREKA - Community members came out to say goodbye to Eureka Police Chief Andy Mills.

Nine-year-old Gabriela told the chief, "how much I'm going to miss him, and it's not going to be the same in our neighborhood and well the whole world without him." She presented the chief with a hand-made card at the Wharfinger Building where it was standing room only for a going away reception.

EUREKA - A PG&E impersonator and two other men allegedly robbed a Eureka man at gunpoint.

Around 8:30 Wednesday morning, Eureka Police responded to the 1100 block of 6th Street where a male resident said someone claiming to be with PG&E knocked on his door and then made entry into his home. Two other men rushed in with firearms then assaulted and restrained the resident.

EUREKA - An inmate who assaulted a senior correctional officer causing serious injuries is convicted by a Humboldt County Jury. Monday, 26-year old Alexi Greenspan of Arcata received the guilty verdict.

The offense is a strike under California law. Greenspan was also found guilty of two counts of felony battery with serious bodily injury to a custodial officer
