HIGHWAY 101- Fire crews contained a vegetation fire off Highway 101 around 1:30pm this afternoon. The blaze burned about a quarter of an acre near the southbound Ferndale exit.  
 
A fire captain with Cal Fire told us the blaze was likely caused by sparks from a passing vehicle. Fire fighters with Fortuna, and Loleta helped put the fire out.
