FERNDALE – The last city in Humboldt County to resist joining the Redwood Coast Energy Authority (RCEA), has now had a change of heart.

The Ferndale City Council voted 4-1 in their latest meeting to join the RCEA, which is an energy saving initiative for Humboldt County.

MCKINLEYVILLE – The American Cancer Society of Humboldt County hosted the first annual Bark for Life event at Hiller Dog Park in McKinleyville Sunday. EUREKA – One man is hospitalized after he was stabbed in Eureka.

At around 11:30 Friday night emergency crews responded to the Lost Coast Brewery parking lot for a male stab victim.

He was transported to St. Joseph Hospital for treatment, and his condition is unknown.

The suspect left the scene in a gray Jeep Patriot with an Arizona license plate.

HUMBOLDT - The annual Humboldt County Preliminary Point In Time Count of the Homeless shows significant improvement over last year’s survey.

This year, 668 people in Humboldt County experienced homelessness on the night of February 27th. This dropped from the over 1,100 counted last year.
