EUREKA – A round of applause for the Eureka High School class of 2017.

Lots of families and friends gathered at Eureka High to support those high school graduates on closing one chapter of their lives and entering into the next. With speeches from class and student body president the ceremony started at 2 PM and continued until every student walked across the stage.

A Ferndale woman attacked her child at Centerville Beach Friday morning. The mother was reportedly attempting to perform an exorcism on the 11 year-old child.

GARBERVILLE - An early morning fire damages a Garberville church and members are now dealing with the devastation.

Despite the church blaze only steps away, the Garberville Farmer’s Market came off with out a hitch.

ARCATA - The Humboldt Crabs helped an Arcata school celebrate the end of the year.

Fuente Nueva Charter School welcomed four players for the annual field day. Students jumped in potato sacks, danced and held relay cart races.

The Crabs taught the kids how to bat and run the bases.

A narcotics detection K-9 helps investigators turn up over 200 grams of suspected heroin and 5 grams of suspected meth.

A group of property owners in Fortuna are proposing annexation from the city so they can pursue cannabis grows.


Residents from the Nelson-Hillside Lane area have formed a group called the Nelson-Hillside Association and have provided a letter to city council saying they would “genuinely like to be annexed” as to not fall under city cannabis restrictions.
