EUREKA- The Humboldt County Coroner's Office has identified 22 year old Thomas James McClain as the Eureka resident shot and killed by a Eureka police officer early Wednesday morning on the 1600 block of Allard Avenue.
 
McClain's autopsy is scheduled for September 27, as the forensic pathologist who conducts autopsies will not be available until that date.

The California Department of Fish and Wildlife is considering a partial ban on lead sinkers and jigs for fishing.

Right now it is only a discussion but there is gathering momentum regarding this issue. Already, Maine, New York and New Hampshire have partial bans. Great Britain has had a complete ban on lead sinkers since 1987.
