EUREKA - For every 8 gallons of gas you pump at a Chevron or Texaco station in the month of October, 1 dollar will go to your local public schools.

SOUTHERN HUMBOLDT - A Colorado Murder suspect on the run, accused of killing his 48-year-old wife in their home, was arrested Tuesday night by Humboldt area CHP.

CHP received information from the Colorado Bureau of Investigation that the murder suspect was expected to travel through Southern Humboldt County.

MCKINLEYVILLE - The 76 Gas and Mini Mart on Central Avenue was robbed at knife point early Wednesday morning, and the two suspects are on the loose.

According to the Humboldt County Sheriff's Office, the robbery happened after 2 am.

The clerk reported that two suspects had entered into the store, stolen cash from the register and fled northbound on Central Avenue.


RIO DELL- Residents living in Rio Dell are being asked to approve a city-wide sales tax increase.

Measure U, is a 1% sales tax that, if approved, would be applied to all purchases. The tax would total to be 1 cent per dollar spent and will apply to most taxable purchases in town.
