DEL NORTE COUNTY- Over 9,700 people in Del Norte County were without power Monday night.

Around 8 p.m., Pacific Power says a wire fell down near the Smith River which caused the outage. Although it's not confirmed, officials speculate it might have fallen from the storm. Shortly after 10 p.m., power was fully restored.

ARCATA - The results are in from the mock election at Arcata High School and Hillary Clinton won among the students by 49 percent. Jill Stein came in second place with 18 percent, and Donald Trump was in third.

The mock election was part of a statewide event by California high schools and Arcata High’s results closely resembled that of the statewide results.

MENDOCINO COUNTY- Highway 101 is shut down after a big rig crash near Leggett.
 
Around 11 this morning a tractor tanker combination was transporting around 6,500 gallons of used motor oil northbound on Highway 101 when for unknown reasons the vehicle overturned. Both north and southbound lanes are closed.

SOUTHERN HUMBOLDT - A dam removal project on the Eel River was suspended due to winter rains and expected high flows on the Eel River.

The Benbow Dam was in operation seasonally from 1928 through 2007. A decision to remove the footings and restore the natural habitat was put in place. NOAA has stated the dam threatened Coho and Chinook salmon and Steelhead from reaching their upstream...

KLAMATH - The Yurok Tribe certified their recent election results and there were no surprises.
