ARCATA- The city wide open container ban is set to be approved by the Arcata City Council. The second reading of the ordinance will take place at the council's meeting on Wednesday.

If approved the ban would go into affect on December 19. The change will ban drinking on any public streets, sidewalks and other property owned or leased by the city.
