FORTUNA- A residential burglary suspect was arrested Monday morning after attempting to steal a truck from a Fortuna home.

Around 6:42 a.m. 41 year old Danny Fidler allegedly forced entry into a residence on the 2000 block of Shamrock Drive. Fidler attempted to take the keys to the victim's truck. When confronted, Fidler fled.

EUREKA- The man hit by a Humboldt Transit Authority bus in Eureka Friday has died of his injuries.

35 year old Thomas William Rice of Eureka tried to board the bus on 5th and O Streets around 11:30 a.m. but was denied access allegedly because he was intoxicated. Rice stumbled into the road and was hit.

He was transported to St. Joseph Hospital where he died from his injuries

The Senior Resource Center is one of the recipients of money from the Redwood Music Festival.  Seniors at the center have been using a pool table that is in need of repair.  But the music association is giving the group money to repair the table.  Michael Blackwell received the money on behalf of the Senior Resource Center.
