The Arcata Fire Protection District was called to a vehicle fire at around 9:30 this morning.

According to officials on scene, a power line snapped falling to the ground at the intersection of 13th and F Street, causing a Chevy Avalanche to catch on fire.

ARCATA - A bicyclist lost his life after crashing off the shoulder of the road in Arcata.

Sunday afternoon just after 1:30, CHP was called to Elizabeth Drive near West End Road.

A man was driving his bicycle, west bound when, for unknown reasons, lost control and went off the roadway.
