CALIFORNIA- Hundreds of thousands of caregivers have not been getting their paychecks on time. California's payment processing system has also been delaying time sheets.

The new Betty Kwan Chinn Family Shelter is almost up and running, as several volunteers came out to help build some donated beds on Saturday and Sunday.

Twenty bunk beds were donated to the shelter by Mercer-Fraser, a construction company based in Eureka. The donation is estimated at $10,000 for the beds. About 10 members of the Eureka Rotary Club spent 50 or more hours putting the beds...

ARCATA- Repairs for a Humboldt State University entry sign will cost $7,000-10,000. It could also take 3 months maximum to complete.

At 6:20 a.m. Sunday, a vehicle crashed into the sign that's located at Sunset Avenue and LK Wood Boulevard. Witnesses say the vehicle was going about 40 miles per hour. The driver, who's a student, sustained minor injuries.

SOUTHERN HUMBOLDT- Thanks to the community's help in reporting suspicious activity to law enforcement, three wanted people were captured in Southern Humboldt.

EUREKA - For the first time in a quarter century, City of Eureka may ask Redwood Coast Music Festivals to pay for the use of its facilities.
