EASTERN HUMBOLDT/TRINITY COUNTY - Power was out to over 1,300 PG&E customers in Eastern Humboldt and Trinity County Tuesday.

Officials with the utility say around 1:45 in the afternoon, areas of East Willow Creek, Salyer, Del Loma and Burnt Ranch lost their electricity. Crews were on scene immediately because of the high fire danger. Power was restored right before 5 pm.

FORTUNA - A Fortuna home sustains significant damage to its attic after a structure fire.

Just before 7:00 Tuesday evening, Fortuna fire responded to the 800-block of 8th Street. Smoke was billowing out of the attic. No residents were in the home and emergency responders were able to knock the fire down quickly.

The cause is under investigation.

EUREKA- Four men were detained, but no arrests were made in connection to an alleged Eureka shooting. 

23-year-old William Branscomb was one of the four who were detained. He was arrested for an unrelated charge of a parole violation.

HYAMPOM-The Humboldt County Sheriff's Office is investigating a double homicide that happened in Hyampom. This makes it the twelfth homicide in Humboldt County this year.

At 11:30 a.m. Sunday morning, deputies met with Trinity County officials at a residence on US Forest Service Road on South Fork Mountain. Two male adults were found dead. Deputies also located large marijuana grows....

REDWAY- A dead body was found near Dazey's Supply in Redway Monday afternoon. 

The Humboldt County Coroners Office will not release the name or cause of death until next of kin is notified. A call to the Humboldt County Sheriff's Office for more information was not returned.

EUREKA - There may be a new world record holder in Humboldt County Tuesday, after Danniel the steer’s official measurement at the zoo.
