HIOUCHI- The California Highway Patrol says it could be "some time" before crews can recover a vehicle submerged in the Smith River.

ARCATA - The Arcata Plaza was packed Friday night with revelers gearing up for the holidays and greeting two very special people.

DEL NORTE COUNTY - A Crescent City man who shot at law enforcement while leading them on a high speed chase has been sentenced to 25 years in prison.

28-year old Brandon Proctor (pictured on the left) and 18-year old Daniel Cardy committed an armed felony in Smith River last March then fled from authorities. They crashed their vehicle and Cardy was arrested at the scene. Proctor escaped...
