FAIRHAVEN - A parolee is behind bars after driving recklessly and leading authorities on a pursuit. 42-year old John Mastel, Jr. was taken into custody.

EUREKA - Eureka Police are releasing the name of the man who was injured in the officer involved shooting in Eureka Tuesday night.

He is 26-year-old Clayton Lee Lasinski from the Garberville area.

According to EPD, he is expected to survive the single gun shot wound he sustained to his upper chest and shoulder. Lasinski underwent surgery last night at St. Joseph Hospital.

EUREKA – Dispatchers released a call over the scanner requesting backup around 4:30, Tuesday evening.

EUREKA - Community members came together to celebrate and honor lost loved ones at the 31st Annual Light Up a Life.
