EUREKA - A building in Old Town had to be evacuated after the sprinkler system was allegedly tampered with.

ARCATA - Arcata Fire District’s search for a new chief is over. Tuesday, officials announced the promotion of Assistant Chief, Justin McDonald.

According to the district, McDonald has more than 22 years’ experience. He started at the department in 1994 and has worked almost every position on the crew.

ARCATA-The Arcata Police Department is searching for a suspect who robbed a store at gunpoint.
