EUREKA - The Humboldt County Board of Supervisors will meet tomorrow for their first December meeting to discuss the commercial marijuana cultivation tax.

A 4.3 earthquake struck at 10:33 Monday morning and was centered 5.6 miles southwest of Petrolia.


The owner of the Petrolia General Store told News Channel 3 the quake was 5-6 seconds long and no items were knocked off the shelves.


The quake was felt in Fortuna, Ferndale, Rio Dell, McKinleyville and Eureka.

GARBERVILLE - The Garberville Sheriff’s substation got a gift of sorts Friday after an anonymous person delivered a bag of drugs.

The contents were found at the Cooks Valley Patriot Gas Station not far from Richardson Grove in Southern Humboldt.

The bag contained 1.8 ounces of suspected methamphetamine. Street value of that amount is around $700.00.

NORTH COAST  – U.S. Senator, Barbara Boxer will introduce a new bill that would require the Army Corps of Engineers to get approval from tribes and communities for any projects affecting their water supplies.
