TRINIDAD - Trinidad City Council is expected to adopt the short-term rental ordinance at tomorrow’s meeting.

After city officials spent months discussing various aspects of the ordinance, council settled on the current guidelines. Those include a cap on available permits, a minimum activity requirement and a lottery system to determine who receives permits in the future.

By the end of this year, 10 Outfront Media billboards will be removed along U.S. Highway 101, in between the Eureka-Arcata corridor. Some of the billboards were found to be non-compliant with permits. In the negotiation, Caltrans will provide permits for Outfront Media billboards in areas such as Sacramento. HUMBOLDT COUNTY - PG&E is continuing to work on repairing two outages. Just before 3:30 Monday afternoon, a tree fell near Richardson Grove knocking out power to nearly 3,000 customers. At this time, 115 customers are still without electricity. The utility said they look to have repairs finished by 2 am Tuesday.

SACRAMENTO- Law enforcement has issued an Amber Alert for a missing baby.

The alert was activated Monday just after 3 pm for 7-month old Henry Massey. The baby boy was allegedly abducted in the Guerneville area by 35-year old Hannah Ashley, the child’s biological mother.
