EUREKA - Eureka's Henderson Center may get a makeover.

Eureka's Development Services Department says the neighborhood is on the rise and boasting an increased interest in new development and fewer vacant storefronts.

NORTH COAST- A plastic bag ban in the state of California was passed earlier this month as part of Proposition 67.

EUREKA - Accused murderer Lorrence Bailey appeared in court for his arraignment today. We've also learned the name of his alleged victim.

Bailey is charged with one count of homicide with special allegations of using a knife and a shotgun causing great bodily injury or death. 

Court documents reveal that Cheryl Lorraine Bussell was the victim of the homicide.

EUREKA – The Eureka Police Department is warning the public about an uptick in burglaries primarily in the Henderson Center area. Of 24 burglaries so far this month, 16 of them have occurred between 8 am and 5 pm while residents are at work.
