KING SALMON - Over a 1,000 PG&E customers are without electricity after a power outage Tuesday night south of Eureka.

SACRAMENTO -- A bill that will protect California’s whale population from unwanted entanglements has won unanimous approval in the Senate Natural Resources Committee.

Senate Bill 1287 was introduced by Second District Senator Mike McGuire and would create a regulatory program with incentives for fishermen to retrieve dungeness crab gear that would otherwise be lost in the ocean.
