ARCATA - A fish kill on the mad river, but wildlife officials say there's no cause for alarm.

Large numbers of dead pacific sardines are accumulating along the mad river. Department of Fish And Wildlife was first alerted to the fish kill by one of their own employees on Monday.

That sparked an investigation to determine the cause.

EUREKA - An esteemed composer commissioned by the Eureka Symphony for a new work is now a McKnight distinguished artist award winner.

EUREKA - Piccolo Petes and 49-ers are the biggest sellers for one firework stand in Humboldt County.
