The California Highway Patrol is working to find a vehicle involved in a fatal hit-and-run south of Eureka. 

It happened just before ten p.m. Sunday night on northbound Highway 101 near the Humboldt Hill on-ramp.

Police say a vehicle struck a pedestrian and fled the scene. The male victim was taken to St. Joseph Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
