The Humboldt County Coroner’s Office has released the name of the man who died in Sunday’s assault in Ridgewood. He has been identified as 30-year-old Joshua Sherer of Eureka. The California Highway Patrol is working to find a vehicle involved in a fatal hit-and-run south of Eureka. 

It happened just before ten p.m. Sunday night on northbound Highway 101 near the Humboldt Hill on-ramp.
