At 8:22 a.m. Wednesday a call came in about an unresponsive juvenile male with visible wounds to his torso laying on a home's lawn . Two people were shot Tuesday night in Swains Flat.

Just before nine, law enforcement was notified that a shooting had taken place off of State Route 36 on Church Lane.

CRESCENT CITY - The police department held two interviews Tuesday morning for a perspective new Chief of Police. The department has been looking to fill the position since Chief Douglas Plack retired. The candidates interviewed are not being named just yet, but the department hopes to announce a new chief by January. Currently, the position is held by an interim chief, Floyd Stokes.
