REDWAY-A non-profit group that helps the disabled had two safes stolen from them in Redway. The burglar also got away with a stolen vehicle and Special Olympics merchandise.

FORTUNA-A building was burned to the ground in Fortuna.

Around 11:15 p.m Wednesday, Fortuna and Rio Dell Fire Crews responded to the Eel River Sawmill. An outbuilding that was on fire spread to the sawmill. The outbuilding burned down, but crews were able to contain the fire within 30 minutes, saving the sawmill from complete destruction.

FERNDALE - A brand-new look is coming to the entrance of the Humboldt County Fairgrounds in Ferndale.

DEL NORTE COUNTY - A rock climber had to be rescued Wednesday after falling and injuring himself in Klamath.

Just before 2 pm, Cal Fire was dispatched to Klamath Beach Road in Del Norte County for an unknown male who had fallen from rocks and injured his ankle and lacerated his arm. Officials say he also showed signs of hypothermia.

KING SALMON - Nearly 200 PG&E customers lost power Wednesday evening after a power line came down in King Salmon.

Around 8:15, utility officials say a wire was broken for unknown reasons. 191-customers were officially without electricity.

Crews were on scene working to fix the problem. Officials couldn’t say when power would be restored.
