ARCATA - A new bench will be dedicated soon for the late Father Eric Freed near the Newman Center at Humboldt State University.

Freed taught at the center for many years and used to prepare his lesson plans on an old bench that became a derelict over time. A new bench is being constructed with help from the boy scouts. It will have a protective fence and plaque dedicating the site....

EUREKA-The Eureka Teachers Association would like to see an increase in pay along with other concerns… they met today with the school district with the hopes of agreeing on a new contract.

HUMBOLDT COUNTY- The Redwood Coast Music Festival kicks off Thursday, starting off with a dance at the Adorni Center.
