EUREKA- Highway 101 north was down to one lane Wednesday morning in the safety corridor following a two car collision.

It happened around 10 a.m. near Harper Ford. Stephanie Mia Yang, 22, and Trudy Lunn Olson, 65, both of Eureka, were transported to St. Joseph with minor injuries following the crash.

WEAVERVILLE- Highway 299 is open today near Weaverville following a fire in the Little Browns Creek Area.

ARCATA - A 42-year old female who was reported missing in McKinleyville was found Tuesday in Arcata.

Chellesta Fleek was reported missing Monday around 12:30 in the afternoon. Family said the disappearance was out of character. Law enforcement, Search and Rescue along with a Coast Guard helicopter had given search mainly in McKinleyville around the Hammond Park area.

A new fire is burning in Trinity County. The Browns Fire started Tuesday afternoon and has grown to  35 acres.
 
The fire is located south of Weaverville and the Trinity County Sheriff’s Office has ordered mandatory evacuations for Little Browns Creek Road.
