TRINIDAD - The Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office is looking for a Westhaven kidnapping suspect after an argument with his ex-girlfriend.

Adam Sundberg is wanted by authorities for domestic violence, criminal threats and kidnapping. The victim was able to escape.

ARCATA - One of Arcata’s most visible buildings may get a facelift. Community members joined forces to paint a mural on the side of the Arcata Bay Crossing apartments.

Arcata City Council member Susan Ornelas and others decided to propose a mural for the “E” street building 6 months ago. Both the residents and the building’s owner, Humboldt Housing, expressed support for the idea.

ARCATA-The Arcata Police Department could add a four-legged officer if funding is approved at Wednesday's City Council meeting.

Council will consider allocating more than $18,000 to purchase a police K9 and pay for handler training. Their previous police dog, Bronko, retired last June after six years of service. The department has wanted to add a K9 since that time.
