EUREKA - Eureka City Council approved $100,000 to help the homeless and restricted possession and sales of butane.

Council approved the money to house chronically homeless seniors and disabled persons in fifteen apartments at The Lodge at Eureka.

That money is contingent on Humboldt County matching the funds and furthers the Housing First strategy adopted by both.

TRINIDAD - Trinidad City Council is moving forward with the short term rental ordinance again.

Council was expected to hear a second reading last week but cancelled the meeting after the city attorney urged clarification of the policy’s language.
