EUREKA -Two men are in custody after Eureka Police Chief Andrew Mills and several officers make an arrest on their lunch break.

Around 1:15 Wednesday afternoon, Chief Mills was visiting the CO-OP to grab a bite to eat when he witnessed a vehicle collision in the parking lot. One victim in a parked car was transported to the hospital with complaints of pain.

MENDOCINO COUNTY - A Leggett woman is dead after crashing her vehicle off of Highway 101 in Mendocino County.

Just after 7:30 Tuesday night, the California Highway Patrol says 47-year old Paula Sanders was driving south near the Empire Camp rest area and for unknown reasons lost control of her 1994 Ford Escort, traveled off the roadway and collided with a large tree.
