RANCHO SEQUOIA- The suspect in last Friday’s shooting in the Rancho Sequoia area of Southern Humboldt has been taken into custody. Matthew Brown is the suspect in the death of Neil Decker.

Eureka  - A tip from a local citizen nets Humboldt County Sheriff’s Deputies two of three suspects wanted in a burglary and forgery case. Authorities have arrested 51-year old Elizabeth Cruz and 45-year old Philip Ashley Wormington after photos of the suspects were released to the public. The Humboldt County Sheriff's department responded to a reported shooting just before 10 Monday night in the Rancho Sequoia area near Alderpoint. 

Update 12:11 am: One victim was found dead according to scanner traffic. 


There are two possible victims. 


This is the same area where there was a fatal shooting last Friday. 



Eureka - A three-car pileup in Eureka sends one woman to the hospital with unknown injuries. Just after 8 Monday evening, a car traveling down I street collided with two other vehicles flipping one over. The accident is under investigation.

ALDERPOINT- The Humboldt County Sheriff's Office has named the suspect of Friday's homicide in Alderpoint as 30-year-old Matthew Aaron Brown.

ARCATA- An 86-year-old is dead after a fire broke out inside his on West End road home. According to Humboldt County Coroner Dave Parris, Jack P. Wilson, died in the fire most likely due to smoke inhalation he said.

SAMOA- The Crimson Polaris arrived Monday to the Humboldt Bay chip dock to be loaded with woodchips.
