FORTUNA- Thursday is the last chance for community members to get their questions answered in depth by the Fortuna Fire District regarding a proposed fire tax assessment increase.

The district will hold it's last public outreach meeting at 6 p.m. Thursday at the Main Station. The district says it intends to clear misconceptions and answer questions for those who haven't voted.

EUREKA- The Eureka Police Department news channel 3 that it has gotten several leads on the possible whereabouts of a Salinas murder suspect believed to be in the city limits.

Nicolas "Brad" Azcona, 23, is wanted by the Salinas Police Department for attempted robbery and murder. He is believed to be a Norteno gang member and is considered armed and dangerous.

EUREKA - Two 25-year-old men from Texas were arrested at a Eureka motel Tuesday night after police found 50 pounds of marijuana.

ARCATA - The North Coast Co-op is now accepting proposals from local non-profits, for grants offered through it’s Cooperative Community Fund.

Grants stem from the Co-op’s ten cent paper bag charge along with shopper donations. Grants will range from $500 to $2000. They will be awarded to organizations geared toward sustainable agriculture, food security, food nutrition and education....

EUREKA - A graduation ceremony was held Wednesday honoring heavy equipment mechanics in Caltrans' Official Apprentice Program.
