EUREKA- A man is assaulted with a crowbar at a Eureka motel early this morning and the suspect is still at large. According to the Eureka Police Department it happened around 10:30 a.m. at Motel 6 on Broadway. Police say a man believed to be in his twenties beat another man over the head with a crowbar after a dispute in the back of the motel.

EUREKA- Stolen vehicle pursuit ends in a crash on Wabash and F Streets in Eureka Monday morning. The Eureka Police Department said 22-year-old Michelle McDaniel admitted to stealing a car Sunday night in Eureka. When officers tried to pull her over for speeding around 11:30 a.m. Monday, she took off and ran a stop sign, then crashed into a curb. McDaniel ran into Eureka Arm & Frame Company...

GASQUET- The Del Norte County Sheriff’s Office confirms that a man’s body was found this afternoon on a trail off French Hill Road near Gasquet. The body was found on top of a sleeping bag by two hikers. At this point deputies believe no foul play is involved. It’s unknown how long the body had been in the area. California State Park officials are closing the Newton B. Drury Parkway to nighttime access beginning March 1st.
