FORTUNA-The victim in Monday's homicide has been identified as Timothy Thomas Smith (age 42) of Fortuna.
Smith was a member of the Fortuna Volunteer Fire Department.
An autopsy has been scheduled for later this week.
Jon David Goldberg, age 36, was arrested in Bridgeville and booked for murder.

FORTUNA - Police are on the lookout for a male and female suspect who robbed a Fortuna resident at gunpoint. Just after 9:30 this morning, officers responded to the 2800-block of Shields Lane for a reported home invasion robbery.

FORTUNA - Flags are at half-staff in Fortuna after the passing of council member, Linda Gardner who died from an extended illness.

Gardner was 67-years old. She was born in Grass Valley but raised in the Friendly City. She graduated from Fortuna High and HSU. Although her career took her out of the area, she returned after her retirement.

FORTUNA - A Fortuna man is dead and a suspect has been arrested.

Around 12:45 Monday afternoon, Fortuna Police responded to a report of multiple gunshots at a residence near the intersection of Rohnerville And North Loop Road.

HUMBOLDT COUNTY - The OneForest Foundation’s photo contest is in its last week and you have until Saturday to submit your work.

The submissions should be photos depicting nature around the county. The winning photos will be used to make the 2017 calendar for the non-profit.

BAYSIDE - There is new input from Bayside residents on the Old Arcata redesign Monday, after a walk assessment of part of the area during school dismissal.
