EUREKA-Green Diamond Resource Company has donated $50,000 to St.Joseph Hospital.

The money will go towards their Cancer Care Campaign and will help support the purchase of a new 3D mammography machine. The 3D machine is important because it will not just detect breast cancer, but will also find cancers that could be missed with the 2D machine.

FORTUNA - A special funeral account has been set up for the family of the Fortuna man who died last week trying to save his children in the Eel River.

33-year old Timothy Hatten drowned near Redcrest. Officials believe an undercurrent in deep water was the cause. Donations are being sought to help defer costs of internment and the funeral.

HAPPY CAMP - Local firefighters have mobilized to help tackle a major fire in the Klamath National Forest.
