ARCATA- An investigation is underway to determine what caused flames to rip through an Arcata residence.

Just after 12:30 Monday afternoon, Arcata Fire District was called to check smoke reported in the community forest.  While in route, fire crews noticed it was black smoke and then found a fully involved structure fire.

SHELTER COVE- A massive whale carcass is drawing a lot of attention after it washed ashore in Shelter Cove.

According to the Shelter Cove Volunteer Fire Department, the carcass appeared on Black Sands Beach around 2 Sunday afternoon.
