EUREKA- An online fund was set-up to help a nurse and her daughter who lost their dog and home in a fire.

Wednesday night, Peggy Friehauf and her daughter woke up to a large amount of smoke. They evacuated and several fire crews responded to put out the blaze. Damage costs and content loss estimated to $175,000. Luckily the two made it out uninjured, but their dog was later found dead....

EUREKA- It's that time again, fire season is quickly nearing. Six Rivers National Forest and Redwood National Park are hosting a community meeting to discuss the upcoming season.

Last year, 100,000 acres burned on Six Rivers land. It was caused by 14 big wild fires that began with lightning.

McKINLEYVILLE - In Mcinleyville, $70,000 from the Measure Z sales tax will provide walkers and cyclists on McKinleyville Avenue a safer commute to school.

EUREKA - The city of Eureka is looking to increase rates for solid-waste collection by Recology Humboldt County.
