FORTUNA-Thanks to kids in a Fortuna neighborhood, a man was caught during a daytime burglary.

At 2:00 p.m Saturday, Fortuna PD responded to the 1,000 block of Elizabeth Barchus Way. A neighbor reported her kids seeing a suspicious man entering a home in the area. 30-year Kenneth Andrew Smith was caught trying to flee from the home, but was arrested by officers.

HOOPA- An inspection report from Humboldt County's Health and Human Services, showed signs of a rat infestation at Ray's Food Place in Hoopa. This comes after a complaint form was filed stating rat droppings and a strong urine smell was noticed throughout the store.

EUREKA - Local Caltrans workers picketed today outside of their headquarters in Eureka.

About a dozen workers that make up the statewide union, SEIU Local 1000, were present to chant about their demands, and what they'd like to see from California's government.
