The following is from the U.S. Coast Guard Sector Humboldt Bay:

MCKINLEYVILLE, Calif. – At 7:11 tonight Coast Guard Sector Humboldt Bay received word that two individuals were stranded on off shore rocks just south of Trinidad Head. On  lookers situated alongside the bluffs overlooking Trinidad harbor spotted the two after their  kayak sank 200 yards off the beach.

HOOPA- A wildfire continues to burn in Hoopa.  It’s called the Heck Creek Fire and it began in the early afternoon on Thursday.

ARCATA- The Bureau of Land Management is implementing fire restrictions for public lands managed by the Arcata Field Office.

ARCATA- An Arcata Police Patrol Service K-9’s duties are over after serving the community for the last six years.

DEL NORTE - It a word that no one likes to hear, deficit, but that’s what the county of Del Norte is currently facing.

EUREKA - It's the annual Redwood Acres “The Best of Humboldt” Fair. Comprised of people, animals, food, games and of course carnival rides.

EUREKA - The Humboldt County Sheriff's Office Annual Explorers Leadership Academy is taking place at Eureka High.

EUREKA- Honoring those who fought to keep our country safe, on Thursday the final celebration of honor flight seven.

Fifty four veterans visited the war memorials in Washington D.C. for free earlier in June as part of the North Coast Honor Flight. On Thursday those veterans gathered once more for a reunion of sorts to talk about the four day trip and pay their final respects.
