EUREKA - Tuesday morning the Board of Supervisors are set to pass their budget for the 2016-2017 fiscal year.

The new budget will come in at over $3.5 million.

Second District Supervisor Estelle Fennell said that it is a hefty budget, but that it should not warrant too much more discussion. The fiscal year begins this week on July 1.

MCKINLEYVILLE - You can get your fireworks for the Fourth starting Tuesday at noon, but only if your local fireworks stand has been properly inspected.

Arcata Fire District’s Jenny Wiliamson was out and about Monday, and she’d already done five inspections before noontime.
