EUREKA - Police are searching for a suspect after a shooting in Eureka. Just before 12:30 this afternoon, officers responded to the 1600-block of Union Street where at least one shot was reported into the ground. There were no injuries but an unknown suspect allegedly fled the scene in a silver sedan.

Residents came out to the Samoa Cookhouse for the Humboldt Bay Harbor Group Meeting to discuss the possibilities of a new railway. People were engaged in the topic of the Upstate California Connect Feasibility Study. The meeting covered topics dealing with the public's concerns about the construction of a new railway, and the likelihood for the study to move on to the next stage.

EUREKA - The CAPE Program is lending a hand to the North Coast families. Sponsored by the city of Eureka and the Rotary Club of Southwest Eureka, the program allows bus transportation and breakfast for underprivileged children for summer activities. The camp is held at Sequoia Park and Cooper Gulch and it allows local youth to go to a safe place to learn and have fun.

FORTUNA- A search warrant reveals new information regarding the hit-and-run that killed two teenage girls.

EUREKA - A wreath laying ceremony was held Wednesday morning in Eureka to honor those who lost their lives in the Korean War. 

July 27,1953 the Korean Armistice Agreement was signed, halting the Korean War. Sixty three years later members of the Korean War Veteran Association Redwood Chapter held a wreath laying ceremony in Humboldt Bay.
