NORTH COAST - Redwood National and State Parks are having a significant financial impact on the North Coast.

A recent study of the park system shows an over 64% increase in revenue since 2012. At that time, the park generated 20.8 million dollars. In 2016 that ballooned up to 34.3 million.

MENDOCINO COUNTY - Caltrans has shut down work on the big slide near Leggett on Highway 101 due to continued rock and dirt sloughing off of the hillside.

After rains returned this week, progress on the roadway came to a halt. Tuesday, tons of rock and mud fell back over all of Caltrans’ hard work. The state agency said they were hoping to have 1-way controlled traffic by this weekend....

ARCATA – The Arcata Plaza vandalism not only affects goers and spectator’s, but can potentially have an impact on local businesses adjacent the plaza.

The plaza’s landscape was vandalized sometime Wednesday. Newly-planted trees snapped in half, and flower beds smashed.

BLUE LAKE – More than a century years old, the Native American Reservation, Blue Lake Rancheria recently launched its new low-carbon community microgrid.

ARCATA - Several trees and plants are destroyed by vandals on the Arcata Plaza early Wednesday morning.

These are images of some of the damage inflicted by unknown suspects.
