EUREKA - A male suspect is taken into custody after an alleged attempted murder in Eureka. 34-year old Michael Grant was arrested.

Last Friday morning just after 9:30, police responded to shots fired near Wabash and B Street. Grant was seen leaving in a black Dodge Charger. Two shell casings were found on the ground. The victim was able to identify Grant to authorities.

EUREKA - Kids and parents were enraptured Friday night at the Sequoia Park Zoo’s Family Zoo Snooze. It’s one of the terrific newer programs at the zoo that’s been going only for two or three years.

ARCATA - The City of Arcata will be following the State of California’s lead and sign on to continue the Paris Climate Change Agreement in opposition to President Trump. Mayor Susan Ornelas signed on to a statement with 61 other US Mayors to adopt, honor and uphold the agreements goals.

EUREKA - In a victory for Floyd and Betty Squires, a judge denied the City of Eureka's motion to appoint a new receiver to manage some of their properties.
