Jim Bernard (News Channel 3 Weather) A veteran TV weatherman, Jim has become a familiar and popular face on the North Coast over the past 15 years. He is an AMS certified Meteorologist who recently retired as an air traffic control specialist with the FAA. Jim resides in the Trinidad area with his wife and two children. In his spare time, he enjoys flying, kayaking, sailing, skiing and tending his flock of Golden Retrievers. |

Leslie Buchanan (News Channel 3 at 5 & 6) Leslie returns to News Channel 3 after spending two years in Boston. There, she took a break from news and worked for an accountant. Happy to be back on teh beautiful Northcoast, Leslie is anxious to bring you local news again. While not at work, she enjoys traveling and cooking, and is busy planning a July 2008 wedding. |

Born and raised in San Antonio, Texas, Jessica comes to News Channel
3 after graduating with a double major in Mass Communications and Speech
Communications from Houston Baptist University in Houston, Texas. Before
HBU, Jessica spent two years at the University of the Pacific in Stockton,
California. Throughout college Jessica played on a full ride for both
university’s women’s basketball teams.

Scott started his braodcasting career at Simon Fraser University in Vancouver, British Columbia. He studied Communications and worked at the campus radio station where he hosted his own sports show. Scott later became the voice of SFU Athletics, calling play-by-play for both the football team and the men's and women's basketball teams After graduating, he landed a job at CTV, a television station in Vancouver. From there, Scott made the move to the US with his wife Becky and settled near Santa Rosa. During that time he worked as a News Writer for KTVU Channel 2 in Oakland. Scott is excited about his move up the coast and is looking forward to immersing himself in the community. |

Eric Koch (News Channel 3 Sports) Born and raised in Cincinnati, Eric comes to the North Coast from south Florida where he just finished a news internship at WPTV in West Palm Beach. He attended the University of Miami where he received his Bachelor's Degree in Broadcast Journalism. While at UM, he spent time as a reporter and sports anchor for UMTV, the on-campus cable TV station. Over the last few years, Eric has also spent time working for the Fox and NBC affiliates in Cincinnati along with the Cincinnati Reds community fund. Eric is a huge sports fan who loves to follow his favorite teams in his spare time, especially that of his alma mater, the Miami Hurricanes. he also spends a lot of time keeping in touch with close friends and family. |

Kristian Leitzen (Assistant News Director, News Channel 3 at 5 & 6) Kristian moved to the North Coast four years ago and has since met many people and seen things you can't see anywhere else. Kristian has enjoyed hiking in the giant redwoods, taking a fishing boat up the Klamath river and cheering for the Kinetic Sculpture Race. Although he still hasn't learned to sail, he's definitely working on it. Kristian has enjoyed serving the people of the North Coast and plans to continue bringing you your local news for years to come. |

Manuel Machado (Sports Director) Born in San Francisco, Manny was raised in Eureka, where he graduated from Eureka High School. Manny received his Bachelor's Degree in Broadcast News from Humboldt State University. He says, "The most rewarding part about my job is the nice people that I meet all over the North Coast." Away from work, Manny loves to follow his favorite Bay Area sports teams with include the Giants, 49ers, Sharks and Warriors. Manny also enjoys traveling and isn't afraid to get dirty. In the summer time you can find him in the outdoors camping, fishing, boating and hiking. |

Originally from southern Illinois, Sara comes to News Channel 3 from Tempe, Arizona where she attended Arizona State University (Go Sun Devils!). She graduated from the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism with a Bachelors Degree in Broadcast Journalism and a minor in Political Science. While at ASU, she reported and produced for award-winning Cronkite Newswatch, a student-run live newscast. Sara has also held internships with KTVI in St. Louis, KPHO in Phoenix, and ASU Media Relations. Sara has always wanted to live in California and is excited to find out what the North Coast has to offer. |

Rissa was born and raised in Marin County but recently came from the heat in Tempe, Arizona. She graduated from the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communications at Arizona State University with a Bachelor's degree in Broadcast Journalsim and a minor in Communications. While attending ASU she was a reporter for award-winning Cronkite NewsWatch, a student-run live newscast. In addition, she worked for her campus TV station SDTV Channel 2 and anchored news shows on the Campus radio station The Blaze 1260 AM. Rissa had internships at KPHO Channel 5 in Phoenix, and ITEM Magazine. Rissa loves California but misses her friends and the hot weather in Arizona. She spends her spare time watching movies, drinking chai lattes, and says she has the greatest family, friends, and boyfriend in the world. |

Jake Taylor (News Channel 3 Sports) Originally from sunny San Diego, Jake Taylor graduated from Humboldt State with a Bachelors Degree in Anthropology with an emphasis in Journalism and Sport. While at HSU, Jake was a goalie for the Lumberjacks soccer team, as well as a radio personality for the campus station KRFH. Jake has enjoyed his time on the North Coast, and claims it's home to the nicest people he's ever met. Jake loves sports and is a loyal supporting fan to the San Diego Padres and Chargers. |

Jill Weaver (News Channel 3 Reporter) Jill comes to the North Coast from Pennsylvania. She graduated from Lock Haven University with a bachelor's degree in Jounalism and a minor in public relations. While attending LHU, Jill was an active member of her campus news station as an anchor, reporter and producer. She interned at the ABC affiliate in Harrisburg where she also worked as an editor. She says the best part about her job is meeting new people and hearing their stories. In her spare time Jill enjoys spending time with her family and friends, going to church, browsing bookstores and partaking in outdoor activities. Though an east coast girl at heart, Jill is excited to be among the Redwoods and beautiful California weather. |
