Eureka High School on Lock Down
Eureka High School locks down campus on Thursday after a high-speed chase comes dangerously close to campus. School Administration says around 12:35pm Campus Officer Chris Jenkins heard scanner traffic of a chase heading toward the school. At that point the EHS decided to lock the doors for precautionary measures. Eureka Police tell News Channel 3 officers were reaching speeds of up to 80 miles an hours when they were chasing a stolen 1995 gold Cadillac. The chase came to an end when the car reached a dead end at L Street near the high school. Both the male and female in the car ran from police and K-9 units. After searching, police could not find the couple but are still on the look out. Eureka High Administration unlocked the doors around 1:20pm. EHS adds, the kids were never in danger.
