Tsunami Causes Damage in Crescent City

Tsunami waves have hit Crescent City causing damage to dock structures and boats moored in the harbor.  News Channel 3's Ben Kroeplin is in Crescent City and reports that authorities there are saying that at least 35 boats have "been destroyed" as well as the docks.  Waves in Crescent City have been estimated at over 8 feet above normal and water has come over the banks of Elk Creek.  No injuries have been reported.  The National Weather Service stresses that this is still a dangerous situation and people all along the North Coast are advised to evacuate low lying areas and to stay away from the beach.  Tsunsmi waves can stop for long periods of time and then begin again.
