Betsy Lambert - News Director/5pm Anchor
An Emmy nominated and award winning journalist Betsy is excited to be back in Northern California. Born and raised in Chico, Betsy's passion for journalism began as a young child sitting on her father's lap watching the nightly news. Her other love was music and after high school she went to Arizona State University to study vocal performance but something always drew her back to journalism so she moved to Southern California to attend Cal State Northridge where she received her degree in broadcast journalism. After graduation she was hired by the CBS station in Idaho Falls, Idaho as a a news reporter/anchor/weather forecaster. From there she moved to Salt Lake City's ABC affiliate as a producer and then got back into reporting at the CBS/FOX station in Bakersfield. Betsy's husband Shane is a teacher and coach. They have a three-year-old boxer named Layla and two kitties who they love dearly.
Matt Mendes - 6 and 11pm Anchor/ Reporter
Matt Mendes feels very honored to work and live in one of California’s most beautiful areas. He began his career as a reporter and quickly moved up the ranks to the 6pm and 11pm weeknight anchor. Since coming to the North Coast, Matt has covered a variety of stories affecting people living in Humboldt and Del Norte Counties. In March of 2011, Matt filed live reports covering the tsunami. He was also the first reporter at the scene of a landslide that shut down Highway 101 for several days. Matt grew up in Kingsburg, California and graduated from Fresno State University with honors. He holds a degree in journalism with a minor in criminology. Matt is a member of the National Association of Hispanic Journalists and Investigative Reporters and Editors. Kelly May - Weekend Anchor/Reporter
Kelly joined the News Channel 3 team in June of 2011 and she's excited to be experiencing all the North Coast has to offer. A native Ohioan, Kelly graduated from the E.W. Scripps School of Journalism at Ohio University with a degree in Broadcast Journalism with a minor in French. Before moving to Humboldt County, Kelly worked as an anchor and reporter at both the PBS and Government Access Channel in Athens, Ohio. Her work has been recognized by the Society of Professional Journalists and she has been nominated for a regional Emmy award. Kay Recede - Reporter
Kay was born and raised in the Bay Area and has lived in Southern California. It's only fitting that she finds her new home in "super" Nor Cal, so she can gloat that she has lived in all parts of California. While Broadcast Journalism is her first love, she graduated with a B.A. in Rhetoric and a minor in Asian American Studies from U.C. Berkeley. Kay is brimming with excitement at the thought of eating her way through all the vegetarian food in Humboldt County and can't wait to hear what motivates, concerns, and energizes her Humboldt County neighbors by writing her at KIEMKayR@gmail.com
Dana Griffin - Reporter
Dana joined News Channel 3 in January 2012. A Magna Cum Laude graduate of Clark Atlanta University, Dana earned a B.A. in Mass Media Arts in May 2010. During school she anchored for CAU-TV, was a member of Lambda Pi Eta National Communication Honor Society and was active with the Essence Dance Line. Dana was initiated into Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Incorporated in 2009. After college Dana went into entertainment television as an intern, turned extras casting recruuiter for MTV's Teen Wolf. Although she enjoyed the experience she realized broadcast journalism was her true passion. Before joining News Channel 3 she worked as a news trainee for WAGA-TV FOX5 Atlanta where she gained valuable experience. Manny Machado – Sports Director
Born in San Francisco, Manny was raised right here on the North Coast. He graduated from Eureka High School and went on to receive his bachelor’s degree in broadcast news from Humboldt State University. When it comes to local sports Manny’s favorite time of the year is football season. He hosts “3-Deep Coverage” which airs every Friday night during the season from the News Channel 3 locker room. The show provides highlights of local high school games along with in-depth looks at the area’s college teams, plus the always popular, “Question of the Week.” Away from work Manny loves to follow his favorite Bay Area professional teams including the Giants, 49ers, Warriors and Sharks. Manny & his wife enjoy spending time with family, traveling, and anything outdoors.

Cameron Cramer -
Weekend Sports/Reporter
Cameron joined News Channel 3 in May of 2011 and is very happy to be back in his native state. Originally from Redlands Cameron moved to Northern Minnesota after graduating from California State University Fullerton in 2010 to work for KAWB-TV. As a reporter at KAWB he was one of the first one the scene after an EF4 tornado decimated the town of Wadena. In college, Cameron won the Jim Zaillian Young Journalist Award at the 2009 Golden Mic Awards. In his spare time Cameron enjoys running, sport climbing and playing guitar. Jim Bernard – Chief Meteorologist
A veteran TV weatherman Jim has become a familiar and popular face on the North Coast over the past 20 years. He is an AMS certified meteorologist who brings you the most accurate and up to date weather information three times a day at 5, 6 and 11pm. Recently retired from the FAA as an air traffic control specialist Jim resides in the Trinidad area with his wife and two children. In his spare time he enjoys flying, kayaking, sailing, skiing and tending his “flock” of golden retrievers.
