New Sentencing Date Set for Ghilarducci, More than a Year since Initial Plea.
May 18th is the new sentencing date for former Humboldt Creamery CEO Rich Ghilarducci, the sixth sentencing date that has been set for him since he first pled guilty to federal fraud charges back in May of 2010. Ghilarducci's latest sentencing set for April 6th had been postponed after he indicated to the judge that he was looking for a new attorney but Judge Charles Breyer's court calendar which lists the new May 18th sentencing date still shows Ghilarducci's attorney as Elliott Peters, who has been his attorney of record since the beginning. Ghilarducci pled guilty to one count of making false statements to an agricultural bank in May and was originally scheduled to be sentenced in October of last year. Ghilarducci's attorney has previously asked that he be given probation while the US Attorney's Office has sought a 41 month prison sentence.
